Tooke's "Letter From America" - all the way from the Big Apple......
You need to print this out as i'm sure everyone is
desperate to hear of our road tripesque experiences
over here.
So hows things? Only two days and I bet your all
really missing us. We actually managed to meet up with
Billy as planned, he was waiting for us in his Villa
shirt just for Simon, it was so sweet, it was if they
both slowed down as they ran across arrivals toward
each other, as romantic music appeared from nowhere.
Billy is now officially a fully fledged red neck, he's
got very scruffy hair and beared and particularly
bright red face, and of course neck. He also seems to
have regressed 10 years as he's become very
hyperactive. Its become like looking after two kids.
We've done pretty much all the touristy bits, empire
state building, statue of Liberty, Wall Street, and we
are very sick of the sight of the underground.
We tried to wave to you from the top of the Empire
State Building, but it was quite cloudy so you may not
have seen us, although I got the impression you were
ignoring us Eds!
As for New York as a whole, its just stupidly big, and
very warm. Our hostel is just on the edge of Harlem,
and all the neighbours sit out all day drinking beer
out of brown paper bags (which does make it taste
better by the way) playing dominoes and glaring at us
as we go past, its quite nice really.
We're off to Salt Lake early tomorrow, just as we got
used to the time difference here, but I dont think New
York has much more to see, so it will be kind of a
relief to get away from the mayhem.
Got to go, we're off to see American Pie 2. I have the
gag prepared for Simon.
Laterz
Tuc
p.s. Simon's already bought porn, and Billys managed
to break stuff off our beds.
Please pray for me.

Just back from My Drunken Reading Festival Weekend. Some strange tales to tell maybe later once the photos are developed. In the mean-time, suffice to say it rocked, and a big shout out to all those who were there and enjoyed the whole craziness and at-times full on brain-wrong of the festival experience. Now its time to get back to real-life and reflect on the fact that i'm now unemployed.....
.....i wanna go back to my tent....

The fog swirls like a soupy grey cataract on the night, the silence only broken by the cough of the night watchman. He shuffles uncomfortably , staring into the ghostly mass with mounting apprehension. The hairs rose on the back of his fat neck as he heard the sound of horse hooves on the hard road. He squinted at the growing orange glow approaching and unsheathed his sword, which would have glinted had there been any light to glint off. As he readied himself a blade swung through the night, beheading the him cleanly. His head hit the cobbles with a wet squealch as the Messenger's horse thundered towards the city gates. He cast his lantern aside, shattering and spraying flaming lighter fluid into the night.
The horse stopped abruptly in the town square, steam snorting from its nostrils, as the black clad Messenger unfurled his scroll. A magnificent, gold leafed scroll, bearing the legend "TALES OF MY DRUNKEN WEEKEND" ......
(I'm trying to make this interesting, OK?) Friday night, was a straight after work style "Works-Do" (TM) this time to send Kate of to Italy. Ciao.
And Saturday started sometime in the afternoon with the Robbannas free music festival in Chamberlain Square. (feat. Baxxter & the Starries as the undoubted highlights.) This then continued on at the After Show party at Robannas - more drinking and STRIPPERS. It was all very Dusk Till Dawn but it was for charidee so the lesbians and the breast-showing was all in a good cause. My enjoyment - oh, and we were doin it for the kids too of course. And then onto the Academy to round things off in sweaty Aftershock burning stylee.
How was yours?

For those of you wishing to hark back to "drunken weekends past", ie. last week then check out the Photo's Link and you'll find the pictures of Hannah's Gathering 2001. Alcoholism is wide-rife.
As for this last drunken weekend, it involved flaming aftershocks and the strangest game of trivial pursuit i've ever been involved in. And so much brain-wrong you wouldn't believe.
