Well the Flapper came to London, it saw the sights, it conquered the bar prices somehow and got absolutely fucked. Three of the midland's finest, Ego So So, Jinjaand Vender took to the stage at the Dublin Castle, Camden. (Which incidentally is nothing like a castle, and nowhere near Dublin, although Father Dougall was wandering about somewhere)
I think whilst the refined ears of the londonites could cope with the guitar-posturing of the bands, whether they could cope with the invasion of the denizens of the flapper and their wronghead ways, (lead as always by the Queen of Wrong (TM) herself) is another matter.
My new swanky abode almost coped with it, helped by the fact that most of the more wasted characters went off to Trash instead. As it was, un-connected by the arrival (or was it?) of so many brummies out of their normal atmosphere, the roof of the ceiling in the hall collapsed in the night. Spazcat may well have feared the place would fall apart without him (he's away on Safari at the moment), and it turns out he was right.
Anyway, if you live in Liverpool, Manchester or Sheffield you can catch this "Hit and Run" tour - check the band's website's for details. They'll be finishing up with a triumphant home-town gig at the flapper on friday. Thats if they make it, Si So So was looking a bit rock-star worse-for-wear this morning, and he'd only just done the first leg of the tour - and beer prices are cheaper oop north.....

If you haven't fled birmingham to live it up in the capital then there's Dumbsaint with the recently re-patriotised Chuck-fuck back on bass on Thursday, and after all that excitement, the smurfs tribute band tart around on Saturday, both at the flapper. How much watered-down beer can you handle?

So catch them if you can before it may be too late and I'm off to get my ceiling fixed.....

Gig guide update -
The Ego So Solid Crew invade Camden on Monday 25th, playing the Dublin Castle. Not yesterday as I seemed to think it was - I believe that was something to do with discussing it first with Si So So at Dirty Rob's.
Also, view some good looking still shots from Rise of the Robots, the C-Movie masterpiece, unfortunately pushed out of a cinema near you by some movies about Potter and Bond.

Well life's a bit noisy up on the murder-mile today, but atleast most of the bangs in the night are fireworks rather than guns hopefully. I start my new job tomorrow, which is nice. Possibly. Hopefully it will go some way towards funding my drinking habit - booze aint cheap here you know. Last week I was working for the government, just by the Houses of Parliament in Westminster - very Yes Minister, I even saw that Michael Portaloo fellow wandering around.
Now its time for the paranoidandroid gig guide-
An Old-skool metal one-off noise-fest as Dumbsaint reform to play Scruffy Murphy's, Birmingham on Thursday 7th.
My mate Rob's mate's band Jacks Creation play Filthy McNasty's, Islington, Saturday 9th. Not seen them, but i'm sure they're very good and that Filthy's is as classy a venue as Scruffy's.
Team Rocket, with a soon to be released mtv-baiting video extravaganza by yours truly, play the Bull & Gate, Kentish Town on Monday the 11th.
Tiny Blue Children play to the townie-chain-pub masses at the Litten Tree, Sutton Coldfield on Wednesday the 13th.

Anyone else got any gigs of interest to promote, let me know and i'll put them up for the six people who visit this site to consider going to, and then decide to stay in and watch Fame Academy instead. Actually, mentioning my old mate Rob there (from back in the day in my Sheffield days) I experienced the first instance of London mind-rubber the other day. Or maybe I brought it with me from Birmingham? Either way, a large after-work pub crawl around the West End including several shots at Garlic & Shots (a must visit goth-hole for any london drinking spree), ended up at the Metro on Oxford Street. There the mind-rubber took effect, the rohypnol shots kicked in and I have total brain-blank as to the club and getting home. Anyone even tell me what kind of music they play there? The wheels of government almost ground to a halt with me not being able to get to work till the afternoon when the head-fog cleared.
